| Component 1 Coursework – Exploring Media Products Completion Students will develop their understanding of how media products create meaning for their audiences. Learners will examine existing products and explore media production techniques. Learning outcome A – Students will develop their understanding of the relationship between media products, their audiences and purposes. Learners must explore media products from each of the three sectors: audio/moving image, print and interactive. Learning outcome B – Students will develop their understanding of how media products combine genre, narrative and representation to create meaning for audiences. Students will produce mock coursework reports to prepare for Pearson Set Assignments. | Component 1 Coursework – Exploring Media Products Completion Students will spend this term completing their first piece of coursework. | Component 2 Coursework – Developing Digital Media Production Skills Students will spend this term completing coursework when the Pearson Set Assignment is released. Learning outcome A: Develop and apply media pre-production processes, skills and techniques Learning outcome B: Develop and apply media production and postproduction processes, skills and techniques to create a media product. | Component 3 Controlled Assessment – Create a Media Product in Response to a Brief AO1 Understand how to develop ideas in response to a brief. AO2 Develop planning materials in response to a brief. AO3 Apply media production skills and techniques to the creation of a media product. AO4 Create and refine a media product to meet the requirements of a brief. Students will be creating a website in response to a brief. They will create an ideas log to explore their ideas. Students will then plan the layout and functionality of their website before creating it. Students will then review the success of the website in relation to the brief. | Component 3 Controlled Assessment – Completion Students will be completing the assessment for Component 3.
