Curriculum

Curriculum Intent

At The Oldershaw School we aim to offer our students an ambitious, rich and diverse curriculum which is engaging, relevant and well-sequenced. Opportunities to increase students’ cultural capital are inherent through the delivery of key skills and powerful knowledge.

Curriculum Principles

Our curriculum principles are the values and pedagogy that underpin all schemes of work at The Oldershaw School and where students learn best and achieve. These principles are the foundations of our curriculum design, and we aim to ensure that these principles underpin the delivery of our curriculum in its entirety. Teachers at Oldershaw are supported to develop and embed these principles in their classroom practice to provide a high-quality learning experience consistently across all lessons in our school.

Extra-Curricular Activities

We believe that extra-curricular activities are fundamental in creating a welcoming environment in which students can succeed. We endeavour to offer a wide variety of clubs to ensure that every student has access to activities that not only interest them but also help immerse them in Oldershaw culture.
